Here comes TOSCA Again.
Licensing plays an important role when we talk about TOSCA as it is proprietary of Tricentis and if you want to access all features of this tool you need to use the licensed version. If you are working for an organizations, then it is really important for you to have basic understanding of License Management as sometimes you might require to deal with it.
Tosca License Manager is a service which is used by administrators to administer tasks related to TOSCA's licenses. There are mainly two types of licenses Node Locked and Floating. In order to start Tosca License Manager Service you can go to Start -> All Programs -> Tricentis -> Tosca Testsuite -> License -> Tosca License Manager.
Node Locked License:- As the name specifies, this type of license is for single workstation or node and is locked with that node only. We can request this license for a single workstation only.
Please follow the following steps to request and configure a node locked license for a standalone workstation:-
Step I:- Open Tosca License Manager by following the path given above. It will open like as shown.
Step II:- Click on Extras -> Options, option dialog box will open up. Select Node Locked License from the License Mode drop down box and then click on OK button.
Step III:- Now, in order to generate a request for Node Locked License type, choose option File from Tosca License Manager and then Request Licenses option. This will open Request Node - Locked License dialog window. There in the Text Box, you will find Client Locking Code which is a unique code for your workstation.
Step IV:- You need to save this Client Locking Code in a file with extension .lservrc and you can do so by clicking on File Option of Request Node - Locked License dialog box and then choose the option Save As.
Now, you need to email this .lservrc file to license@tricentis.com for your license request.
In response to your license request Tricentis will send you Client License Code again as a .lservrc file via email.
Step V:- Save the .lservrc file which is sent to you by Tricentis at %TRICENTIS_HOME%\License location.
Step VI:- Repeat steps I and II again.
